Founded in 2018, ChaiConnect provides accessible and culturally relevant programming to the community. We are honored to offer meaningful play-based learning experiences to children and families.

ChaiConnect Early Childhood Explorations is designed for children ages 4-6. This class meets once a week for 8 weeks for 45 minutes each week. There is a 1:10 ratio of teacher to students.

The objective of this class is to support children’s learning and development through play-based learning and social skill development, all while exploring topics related to culture. An age-appropriate cultural topic is selected from one of four designated categories each week.

Children will engage in play-based learning activities to learn about the weekly learning goal / objective for that particular class session. There will be various opportunities for open play, storytime, and sensory explorations, all related to that week’s cultural topic. These opportunities will support children’s natural developmental need for play.

Children will learn about and practice social skills related to empathy, friendship, and social problem solving. These skills are foundational to Pre-Kindergarten, Developmental/Transitional Kindergarten, and Kindergarten.

At ChaiConnect, we strategically utilize the “mirrors & windows” concept (popularly used in literature) to develop our programs. This approach helps us develop programs that provide opportunities for belonging and learning. Our programs are designed for and open to all. For example, our children’s programs serve as a "mirror" for South Asian children to "see" themselves in the program & a "window" for non-South Asian children to look through and learn about South Asian culture.
