ChaiConnect is a community space that provides opportunities for belonging and learning.

Founded in 2018, ChaiConnect began as a community space for South Asian women centered around community, conversation, and chai. Since then, ChaiConnect has evolved into a community space inclusive of all genders and ethnic backgrounds. At ChaiConnect, we strategically utilize the “mirrors & windows” concept (popularly used in literature) to develop our programs. This approach helps us develop programs that provide opportunities for belonging and learning. For example, our signature programs serve as a “mirror” for South Asian women to “see” themselves in the program & a “window” for non-South Asian women to look through and learn a new perspective. Our ChaiKids programs serve as a "mirror" for South Asian children to "see" themselves in the program & a "window" for non-South Asian children to look through and learn about South Asian culture.

ChaiConnect is also home to SAMOSA, the South Asian Mentorship, Opportunities & Speaking Association.

As an aside, we’re often asked about the significance of chai in ChaiConnect. The significance of chai extends beyond just representing a popular beverage. Chai is culturally significant throughout South Asia, and is more than just tea. It is a staple supplement to conversations and gatherings amongst South Asians, regardless of regional, cultural or societal differences.
